TraderSync review (2026): what it does well, where it falls short

TraderSync has been around since 2013 and packs a lot into one app: imports from 700+ brokers and platforms, a market replay simulator, and an AI assistant that answers questions about your trades. It starts at $29.95 a month with no free plan. Here's what it does well, where it falls short, and who I think it's worth it for.

The short version

TraderSync is a solid all-in-one journal and cheaper than TradeZella at every level. It's worth it if you'll use the market replay to practise and ask its AI about your trades. Pro at $29.95 a month ($22.46 paid yearly) has almost all the analytics. The catches: no free plan, payments aren't refundable, and the best practice tools are on Elite at $79.95. If what you're missing is knowing which mistake to fix, you're paying for a lot you won't open.

TraderSync is worth it if
  • You'll practise in market replay every week
  • You want trades to sync from your broker
  • You want an AI assistant to answer questions about your trades
  • You want a phone app as well as the website
Look at Actal instead if
  • You want every trade graded on how well you followed your plan
  • You want to see what each mistake costs you in dollars
  • You run more than five accounts and don't want to pay for Premium
  • You'd rather not pay before you know you'll keep journaling

What TraderSync does well

  • Getting trades in. TraderSync says it imports from over 700 brokers and platforms. Where your broker supports auto-sync, trades arrive without exporting a file.
  • The analytics are the same on every plan. MFE and MAE, exit analysis, a risk exposure report and fees applied to every trade are all on Pro, the cheapest plan.
  • Market replay. A simulator you can step through to practise, at 1-minute detail on Pro, 1-second on Premium and 250 milliseconds on Elite, where you also get Level II and the tape.
  • Cypher, the AI assistant. You ask questions about your trades and get answers: 5 messages a day on Pro, 15 on Premium, 60 on Elite. Elite adds a Coach that looks for patterns without you asking.
  • A phone app on iOS and Android, on every plan.
  • Price. It's cheaper than TradeZella at every level, monthly and yearly.

Where it falls short

  • No free plan. You get 7 days, and the trial blocks exporting your trades, so you can't test getting your data back out before you pay.
  • No refunds. TraderSync's billing policy says all payments are non-refundable, not even pro-rated. Paying yearly saves 25%, but if you stop in month two the rest is gone.
  • The best tools are on the top plan. Level II and the tape in replay, the AI Coach and automated backtesting are Elite only, at $79.95 a month.
  • Pro has limits that are easy to hit. TraderSync's plan card lists five accounts on Pro. A couple of evals, a funded account and a sim and you're on Premium.
  • Some of its own numbers don't agree. On the same pricing page the Pro plan shows 5 strategies in one place and 3 in another, and a tooltip gives different account limits than the plan cards. Ask support before you pick a plan for one of those limits.

My own view, from coaching: TraderSync shows you a great deal about what happened. Whether you followed your plan is still yours to work out, and the traders I see repeating the same mistake rarely lack reports. The AI Coach on Elite is the part aimed at that, and it's on the most expensive plan.

Who it's for

  • Pro: you want broker sync, the full analytics and a bit of replay, with up to five accounts.
  • Premium: you run more than five accounts, want more strategies or trade plans, or want second-by-second replay.
  • Elite: you scalp and want Level II and the tape in replay, automated backtesting and the AI Coach.
  • Not a great fit: someone who isn't profitable yet and wants to spend nothing while they figure it out, or who mainly wants one clear thing to fix each week.

Where Actal is different

I built Actal for traders who have plenty of reports and still repeat the same mistake. It's smaller on purpose. Every trade is checked against your own rules and graded A to F on how well you followed your plan, separately from the P&L. Each mistake keeps a running dollar cost, and the most expensive one becomes your focus for the week. Your premarket plan, with A, B and C scenarios for each market, gets closed out after the session.

It's free while in beta, with no account limit. What it doesn't have: broker auto-sync, replay, backtesting, an AI assistant or a native phone app. You upload a file from your platform after the session, and it works in the phone's browser.

Questions people ask

If you'll use the market replay and the AI assistant, yes, and it's cheaper than TradeZella. If you mainly want to stop repeating the same mistakes, you'd be paying for tools you won't use.
