TraderSync vs TradeZella (2026): price, features and which to pick

TraderSync and TradeZella are the two journals most traders end up choosing between. They're closer than their marketing makes them look: both sync from brokers, both have replay, backtesting and AI, and neither has a free plan. The real differences are price, how many accounts the cheaper plans allow, and whether you want a phone app.

The short version

TraderSync is cheaper at every level and has a phone app. TradeZella is the better-known name, with AI agents that tag and review your trades, automated backtesting from Pro and mentor tools, but its cheapest plan connects only one account and has no trade replay. For most active traders the real choice is TraderSync Pro or Premium at $29.95 or $49.95 a month against TradeZella Pro at $59.

Pick TraderSync if
  • You want the lower price at every level
  • You want an iOS or Android app
  • Five accounts on the cheapest plan is enough
  • Market replay practice matters more to you than AI agents
Pick TradeZella if
  • You want AI that tags every import and reviews your sessions
  • You want automated backtesting without paying for the top plan
  • A mentor or coach needs to see your journal
  • You want the best-known journal and don't mind paying for it

From TraderSync's pricing page and billing policy, and TradeZella's pricing page, terms and help center, all checked on 13 October 2026. TradeZella raised its prices on 14 July 2026, and existing subscribers kept their old price, so a friend may be paying less than you would.

Price: what you'd really pay

Compare the plan you'd actually need, not the cheapest one. Two things decide it: how many accounts you trade, and whether you want trade replay.

For a futures trader with a couple of evals and a funded account, that's TraderSync Pro at $269.52 a year against TradeZella Pro at $531. Neither refunds, so pay monthly until you're sure. The full breakdowns are in TraderSync pricing and TradeZella pricing.

Features: where each one is ahead

  • Replay. TraderSync's market replay is on every plan, at finer detail the more you pay, with Level II and the tape on Elite. TradeZella's tick-by-tick trade replay starts on Pro.
  • AI. TraderSync's Cypher answers questions you ask, with a daily message cap. TradeZella's agents do work without being asked: one tags every import, another reviews your session. The agents start on Pro.
  • Backtesting. TradeZella lets you describe a strategy in plain English and runs it automatically, 10 runs a month on Pro. TraderSync's automated backtesting is Elite only.
  • Mentors. TradeZella's Mentor Mode gives a coach read and comment access to your account, if you both pay. TraderSync shares single trades with a mentor.
  • Phone. TraderSync has iOS and Android apps. TradeZella says it's web only.
  • Prop firms. TradeZella's PropFirm Sync tracks your firm spending and rules on every plan.

Which one should you pick?

  • Pick TraderSync if price matters, you trade up to five accounts, or you want a phone app. Pro covers most traders.
  • Pick TradeZella if you want AI that works on every import, automated backtesting below the top plan, or a coach who logs into your journal.
  • Pick neither yet if you're not profitable and every subscription hurts. Start with a free journal and move up when you know what you're missing.

Or something different: Actal

Both are reports-and-tools apps: they show you a lot about what happened and leave the conclusion to you. Actal, which I built, starts from the other end. Every trade is checked against your own rules and graded A to F on how well you followed your plan. Each mistake keeps a running dollar cost, and the most expensive one becomes your focus for the week. It's free while in beta with no account limit. It has no broker sync, replay, backtesting or AI, so if those are what you want, pick one of the two above.
